Elrick Bass Strings
With the strings on a Squier 5-string jazz bass, I loved how they felt right out of the packaging. I test-drove them over a week’s time, playing four gigs at 4 hours a night. After these smoky bar gigs, they still have plenty of life left in them. I was very happy with the tone of the strings. They turned out to be very universal for rock or country.
I noticed that the wind on the bridge end of the string ended, revealing just the core wire as you got closer to the bridge. The Squier bass I had them on was not set up with that in mind, and so I had a little trouble with the low B string fretting out. If you adjust the saddle on that string when you put these strings on, there shouldn’t be any issues. Overall though, I think these bass strings are great.
Thanks to Elrick for the opportunity to play them!
