January 2010

Well, 2009 is gone and it seems that it went as fast as it came. The whole Bass Frontiers Staff is sitting on a plane headed for Winter NAMM in Anaheim once again. Time passes us by so fast and the older I get the faster it goes.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous 2010. Set high goals for yourself and take all steps necessary to achieve them. Bass Frontiers all in all had a good 2009. Our readership continues to grow and even though (as I have said in my own way) we are NOT setting the world on fire, we do indeed continue to move forward and find new ways to reach bassists and musicians alike all over the globe.

Dave Fowler, Editor In Chief, Bass Frontiers Magazine

Looking back at 2009 it was a great year for me as a bassist. I spent the majority of 2009 unemployed, as Dolly Parton decided to come off the road, but in the end it turned out to be a very busy year. I got calls to play with Country Star John Michael Montgomery, Pop star Edwin McCain and landed a full time position with country star Collin Raye.Being trusting in the lean times is very important. I had saved enough money to help me through, but it ran out a few months before I got busy again. Thank goodness I was prepared at least that much.

All in all, I want to say to always keep the faith because something will always come through for you if you believe and work hard. Without fail I have always had something come through for me even when it looked very hopeless. Believe me, I have been where many of you have been or may be right now, KEEP THE FAITH that good things will come through for you.

Another thing I want to share with you is the power of giving. Biblically speaking, giving is the key to getting. I can attest to the fact that the more I give to others (be it time or money), the more I seem to get back. Weird how it works and I have no explanation for it, but I can tell you that it works. For 2010, please be giving of yourself as much as you are able.

You will never go wrong in this and in some form or another you will always get it back. We send each of you many, many well wishes & blessings for this year and as I always state; we are more than your magazine. We are your friends. If we can help anyone in any way, that is why we do this. Please get in touch with us if you need anything that we can help with!

Wishing the very best in 2010 for each of you…

Editor in Chief
