John Renbourn: 1944 – 2015

It was with much sadness that I learned earlier today that John Renbourn passed away at his home yesterday. Possibly best known for his collaboration with guitarist Bert Jansch as well as his work with the folk group Pentangle, John was also a very successful artist in his own right.

I knew John for many years and his relationship with Rotosound and my father went right back to the late 1960′s.

As well as being a phenomenal guitarist, John was excellent company and had many anecdotes from his years in the music business. Over the years he told me some great stories about my father.

He was a truly genuine gentleman and he will be sorely missed.
