I hope everyone is settling in to the new year and that it is treating you well. I have had the busiest winter that I have ever had (from a work standpoint), and so for this I am very grateful.

I just got home from Biloxi, Mississippi. I played there with Jamie O’Neal at The Isle of Capri Casino. We went down a day early and there was a band playing called Bag of Donuts out of New Orleans. Man, not only were they good, but they REALLY had fun. So, I thought, “What a concept, these guys are having a great time playing music and entertaining the crowd, AND they seem to be really happy!”

I got to thinking that playing (at times) has become a job, and somewhere along the way I have lost what these guys still have held on to. In spite of the hard road they are on they are really having fun! So many musicians are on the road on cush gigs and complain about it all the time but these guys were very entertaining and again just having a ball not just at times but the entire time they were on stage…it was full on FUN!
