Morley T.M. Stevens Fonk Wah

Morley T.M. Stevens Fonk Wah

The TM Stevens Fonk Wah is as colorful as the man it is named after…upon first taking it out of the box it is a very good looking piece, and it gets better from here…if you are into the whole wah “fonk” thing, then this pedal could be for you!

It is GREAT that you can use it with a 9 volt battery so you don’t have to have cords running all over the place…however if choose to run batteries in any pedal please use good ones and not cheap ones, just
trust me on this one! If you run a full pedalboard the Morely 9VDC 300 milliamp adapter will
come in very handy! Remember per Morely’s suggestion a non regulated adapter could damage
the pedal and or cause a low hum.

Another great feature of this unit is that it is switchless, you simply step down on it to engage and back off it to bypass it. The Fonk switch selects between traditional wah (LED off) and “FONK WAH” (LED ON)….and the FONK wah is what I prefer…it is a thing all its own (ala as “TMish” as it gets and will make you want to play stuff you didn’t know you could!

I notice that some pedals I have played with in the past often times cost a bit of signal loss this pedal did not do that to my signal..it is a very nice enhancement to overall tone…it is named very well!!

It also has an active/passive trim knob so you can dial in just the right input level for active or passive pickups (this is a very good feature)…I greatly favor active basses these days so this came into play for me!

All in all this pedal is very well made, very FONKY and a GREAT value. And I stress to you that I don’t get to use this kind of stuff in my playing environments but if I did this would be the ONE for me. Morely has always (in my opinion) made some of the best pedals on the market that of course is arguable, all I can say is try it for yourself if you are ready to be FONKY…don’t be scared!
