Nathan East debuts at #1, sits-in with The Roots 2/9

Bassist Nathan East’s album ‘Reverence,’ released via Yamaha Entertainment Group, debuts at No. 1 on both the Jazz Albums and Contemporary Jazz Albums Billboard charts. It follows the “genre-crossing footsteps” of Nathan’s eponymous Grammy-nominated debut album, which also debuted at No. 1.

“Lifecycle,” the jazz single off the album featuring funk-influenced horns and Nathan’s inimitable bass, has been at No. 1 on the Mediabase Smooth Jazz Chart for 9 consecutive weeks.

The album features collaborations with Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Yolanda Adams, Ruben Studdard, Nikki Yanofsky, and Chick Corea. “Such an intriguing lineup is no surprise given East’s storied career,” said Billboard of ‘Reverence.’

Nathan will sit in with the legendary Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon next Thursday, February 9th.
