Newsletter: March 2010
Welcome to spring, folks!
Here at the Bass Frontiers offices, it’s been starting to get warmer, and that means we can open the windows, drink ice cold drinks, and………well, work on a website indoors. Thankfully, all of the stuff that’s been coming in for us lately has been so cool that we don’t even mind!
We are proud to announce that Maurice Withers has won the Spector giveaway! Maurice will be receiving a Spector ReBop 4 DLX EX, a very fine low end instrument indeed! Don’t be discouraged, friends. Because you are signed up for this newsletter, you are automatically entered to win future giveaways. Please tell all your bass friends that they can be in on the action if they just sign up!
One important thing to bring up is that since we last wrote, a whole slew of companies have come on board to sponsor us, including; Bass Central, Rotosound, La Bella, and George L’s! It’s really exciting to have companies that are the caliber of these four be associated with Bass Frontiers! Be sure to visit them as soon as you can!
Over on the main page, we are so excited to present the first part of our video interview with master session/live player, Lee Sklar. As you know, Lee has one of the most extensive resumés of anyone in the music industry, and it’s ALL good music! In this part of the interview, Lee Talks about his partnership with Yamaha and the story behind some of the signatures on his Frankenstein bass. What history!
Speaking of new stuff, there’s a great review of The Bassist’s Guide to Creativity from Darren Theriault that went up recently. Darren is a fantastic musician, and his stamp of approval is a good sign that you can mine some serious material out of this book!
Earlier this month, we got the chance to sit down and talk with Mike Inez from Alice In Chains. He was so gracious and excited to talk about his background and career experience. We are going to be so excited to have you see that video. Players who are good people to the quality of Mike Inez are the reason that we get such great music into our ears!
Before we run, please remember to get with us on Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace. We’re always posting when our new content pieces hit on Twitter and facebook, so if you want the inside scoop, join up!
Here’s hoping everyone is starting to get out from under the snow and at least thinking about putting away the winter coats!
