PETERSON INTRODUCES PITCHGRABBER ACTIVE MOBILE TUNING PICKUP
Exclusively designed for use with mobile tuning apps
Peterson’s long-time TP-series tuning pickup line now features a new member – the Peterson PitchGrabber Mobile. Mobile tuning app users who have struggled with tuning their instruments using the built-in microphone on their mobile devices can now have a direct instrument connection with the PitchGrabber Mobile. By isolating the instrument’s output during tuning, the PitchGrabber Mobile improves tuning accuracy and confidence. Additionally, the PitchGrabber Mobile prevents frequency limited bandwidth and heavily filtered built-in microphones, found in many of today’s phones and tablets, from hampering a tuning experience.
The PitchGrabber Mobile is a clip-on tuning pickup that works by capturing an instrument’s vibrations via a sensitive piezo pickup that can be used with both acoustic and electric instruments. Those vibrations are converted and amplified into electrical signals that, when connected to a tuner, can be interpreted as pitch.
The clamping mount allows the PitchGrabber Mobile to be easily secured on to guitar headstocks, flute barrels, horn tubing, and a variety of other instruments. Soft, rubber pads located in the wide jaws of the PitchGrabber Mobile protect an instrument’s finish while providing a firm grip for maximum signal conductivity. The clamp’s slim design coupled with a long, fabric wrapped cable for durability allows it to be positioned in a variety of places on an instrument so it can be left on while playing without impeding a player’s movement.

The PitchGrabber Mobile features an impedance-matched, 3.5mm output jack that automatically activates the line-in input in both iOS and Android devices. Due to the active circuit design, negligible power is drawn from the mobile device and consumable batteries are not required.
