Review: MOOER Ensemble King Analog Chorus Pedal.

The MOOER Ensemble King Analog Chorus Pedal, small footprint, big sound. This pedal is from the MOOER micro series. For those of you that are not familiar with the micro series pedals, they are almost exactly half the size of a normal pedal. Sometimes smaller is better, and in this case, this little pedal is pretty hot. Being that the pedal is so small, it can only be powered by a 9 volt adapter. For most of us that use pedal boards, this is not an issue and the cost of purchasing an adapter far outweighs spending extra cash on 9 volt batteries.

There are three basic adjustments that can be made to the pedal in order to adjust the amount of chorus you wish to have. The level, having nothing to do with volume, simply adjusts the amount of chorus that you want. The depth control does just that, adjusts the depth of the chorus, and finally, the rate control adjusts the speed at which you want the chorus to reflect. There is a true bypass switch which turns the chorus on and off and being that this is true bypass, it does not affect your signal when not engaged. I noticed no signal loss whatsoever when the chorus was not on. There is a LED to specify wether the chorus is on or off.

Even with the pedal being half the size of a normal pedal, their is no loss of sound quality. Both lows and highs are clean and vibrant. There is no loss of low end even when using a 5 string bass. I recently did some gigs with this pedal, and being that some of the bands I work with play classic rock mixed with the 80′s pop, this chorus pedal really came in and did everything I expected and needed. The guitar player in the band was also amazed at how well this pedal works with the bass. Below are some short and quick samples only to give a brief overview of the analog chorus pedal.

Keep in mind, that there are an enormous amount of adjusts that you can make to get the specific chorus sound that you are looking for. Don’t let the size fool you, good things do come in small packages.

Mooer makes a multitude of pedals that not only work great for guitar, they work great for bass as well. MOOER has everything from delay, pitch shift, distortion and reverb pedal, to anything that will suit your taste. Check out the MOOER micro series pedals at the Osiamo web site.
