R.Cocco strings have been around for quite some time now and that is apparent. These are fine hand crafted strings that are available as either nickel round wound or stainless steel. I recently had the chance to test drive a set of the nickel plated flavor, and I must say that the highs are clean and bright and the lows are full and deep.
R.Cocco strings are not coated and still offer the smoothness and comfort of a coated string especially when playing for a long period of time. I used these strings for a couple of live gigs and they really held up very well. As I do when installing new strings on any bass, I do have my own method of stretching them before using them live and the R.Cocco strings stayed in tune the entire night. R.Cocco not only makes 4 string sets, but 5 and 6 string sets as well. With the abundance of gauges available, you are sure to find what fits you.
R.Cocco strings are available from amazon. For more information on R.Cocco strings, please visit their site here.
