Video Interview: James “Hutch” Hutchinson

If someone needs a bass player who knows a few things about grooving really hard, they don’t really need to look much farther than Hutch Hutchinson. Yet another bassist who went through the bottleneck that is Berklee College of Music (also a Boston-area native), Hutch is best known for his extremely long tenure with Bonnie Raitt, as well as performances with The Neville Brothers, Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, Crosby Stills & Nash, Willie Nelson, Bryan Adams, Ryan Adams, Stevie Nicks, Roy Orbison, Garth Brooks, Kathy Mattea and many more!

Billy Sheehan, Dave Fowler and Hutch Hutchinson

It feels redundant, but it’s worth saying…if you want to learn about how to play bass in a way that will get you called for some gigs, Hutch is the right guy to take advice from!
